Working Space is what’s actually available for storage after RAID, performance buffers, and overheads are applied.
Every Jellyfish Tower can connect up to 3 Jellyfish R24 Expansion chassis of any capacity (96-432TB).
Max capacity for R24 servers is 1.728PB - 4x 432TB.
If you don’t want to add expansions now and you run out of storage in the future, you can always add a Jellyfish Storage Expansion by contacting Cedric at Labspace.
Please note that the increase of read and write speeds for expansion purchased after your initial implementation won’t be noticeable right away as it will take time for the data to balance between the original and the new hard drives.
All Jellyfish utilize ZFS RAID which adds an extra layer of protection to your data since all data and metadata are stored on your pool.
By default, the Jellyfish R24 can sustain the failure of up to 2 hard drives per 8-disk virtual device, up to a maximum simultaneous failure of 6 physical drives per pool.
Jellyfish is designed for "IT Free" operation and management. Easy to use web-based admin panel makes it easy to check the health of the system, swap out HDD, and make changes without ever entering the command line.
Users with IT personnel will be able to easily take advantage of additional Jellyfish functionality such as permissions management, remote access, and various backup options.
Jellyfish includes unlimited use of Jellyfish Connect App mounting tool for macOS and Windows 10.
