The Jellyfish Mobile server is compatible with Mac, Windows, and Linux operating systems and supports a mixed hardware / software environment.
Your Jellyfish Mobile is designed to be used without a switch and comes standard with 2x 10GbE ports.
With 2 Network Interface Cards (NIC) slots spare, you can choose to add 1 or 2 cards from these options:
2 or 4 port 10GbE NIC
2 port SFP+ NIC
4 port 1GbE NIC
If you require extra connections, we recommend you purchase a Mobile with 10x 10GbE ports and add a 10GbE switch to your workflow. The ten 10GbE Jellyfish ports can then be Link Aggregated (LACP) with your switch.
PS. There are no license fees charged for extra ports, just the hardware cost of the NIC.

Every Jellyfish Mobile can connect up to 2 Jellyfish Mobile Expansion chassis of any capacity (32-96TB).
Max capacity for Mobile servers is 288TB - 3x 96TB.
Bandwidth
For every expansion, we add 1000 MB/s on both read and write.
If you don’t want to add expansions now and you run out of storage in the future, you can always add a Jellyfish Storage Expansion by contacting Cedric at Labspace.
Please note that the increase of read and write speeds for expansion purchased after your initial implementation won’t be noticeable right away as it will take time for the data to balance between the original and the new hard drives.
All Jellyfish video editing servers utilize RAID ZFS which adds an extra layer of protection to your data since all data and metadata are stored on your volume.
RAID Z1
By default, a Jellyfish Mobile in a RAID Z1 configuration can sustain a single disk failure (out of 8) without data loss.
RAID Z2
A Jellyfish Mobile in a RAID Z2 configuration will have a reduced overall capacity but can sustain a failure of up to 2 disks (out of 8) without data loss. Recommended for teams that often travel with their Jellyfish Mobile.
Jellyfish is designed for "IT Free" operation and management. Easy to use web-based admin panel makes it easy to check the health of the system, swap out HDD, and make changes without ever entering the command line.
Users with IT personnel will be able to easily take advantage of additional Jellyfish functionality such as permissions management, remote access, and various backup options.
Jellyfish includes unlimited use of Jellyfish Connect App mounting tool for macOS and Windows 10.
